Mentor-Mentee Meet-up Program

We are excited to introduce you to the first mentor-mentee program jointly run by KSCEE EC and KSEA Technical Group C-5 (representing Civil, Environmental, and Architecture). This mission-driven program fosters members’ career development through the lifelong mentor-mentee relationship. Any eligible mentor can apply by completing this form by 5:00 pm (EST) on May 1. Described below, please note some conditions and restrictions of this program.

Eligibility: Mentors, especially professionals, should have at least one year of field experience after their Doctoral degree or three years after the first Master’s degree. Mentees include current undergraduate and graduate students, postdocs, early career professionals, and assistant professors. Each mentor should list up to two mentees to form a group.

Support: We will provide each pair or group with meal support (up to $100 per pair and up to $150 per group) for any mentoring session. Each mentor must submit an itemized receipt and a group photo for reimbursement. Neither alcoholic beverages nor virtual meetings will be funded. Each pair or group is encouraged to have the first mentoring session locally in-person between approval and May 6. All program participants will be invited to a workshop on “effective mentoring and constructive professional relationships” to share their experiences and plans. This workshop is tentatively scheduled to take place during the week of May 8 virtually.

Organizers:
The Korean-American Society of Civil and Environmental Engineers (KSCEE)
